Chicago’s Presidential Towers
unveils new look
Presidential Towers, the historic
landmark that sits as the gateway to Chicago's West Loop district
has completed renovations of the retail space and residential
common area interiors.
Renovations to the lobby, Towers 1
and 2 commons, leasing and residential service areas began in 2010
to provide residents with best in class reception and common area
amenities. Their completion signifies the end of the first wave of
renovations Waterton Residential has in store for Presidential
Towers -- the most significant asset in its
portfolio.
"Presidential Towers is historic.
It's a community people think they already know. We felt that
updating it to improve and create common areas would enhance the
overall resident living experience and highlight our amazing
assortment of amenities and conveniences," said Phyllis Kempton,
Senior Community Manager, Presidential Towers. "If you think you
know Presidential Towers, think again. It's transformed and it's
worth checking out."
Upon entering Presidential Towers,
the transformation is apparent in the lobby with the impressive
addition of rich wood, bursts of cheery color and glass to increase
the natural light and create a warm, homelike environment. These
enhancements flow in texture, look and feel across all of the newly
renovated areas to fulfill Presidential Tower’s initial mission of
making home look like "home" throughout. In addition, because
Presidential Towers is a community, its common areas have been
thoughtfully and purposefully transformed into social spaces with
the idea of turning neighbors into friends.
More visible to the general public
and still in the works are the Presidential Tower's street facing
retail spaces, designed to open up to the growing West Loop day and
nighttime populations, and the much-anticipated Fitness Formula
Clubs. Slated to open mid-2011, Fitness Formula Clubs will take the
existing fitness space and expand it to 52,000 sq. ft. on two
levels, featuring a dramatic new, street-level, 3-story glass
enclosed atrium entry, an indoor swimming pool and whirlpool with
atrium ceiling, an outdoor swimming pool and sundeck, an FFC Spa,
Juice Bar Café and much more.
Architects from Valerio, DeWalt,
Train worked in tandem with interior designers from Searl Blossfeld
Design to transform this premier property. In addition, during the
course of the Phase I renovation process, brand strategy and
creative firms Involve and Integrate partnered with Presidential
Towers and Waterton Residential to energize its brand, resulting in
a new brand look, feel and promise succinctly expressed in
"Convenience without compromise," the brand’s new
themeline.
